PRIMAVERA CELEBRACIóN
20 Nov 2013
The 2013 NGINA Awards were a huge success – read all about it here and find out who this year’s winners were.
At this year’s NGINA Awards, the Primavera Celebración theme added a touch of Spain, with balloons galore, flowers (courtesy of Western Sydney Institute floristry students), themed menu cards and stylish fans on each table. Amidst this colourful setting the night got under way with sangria, mini paellas and the El Duende flamenco dancers.
From the outset MC Timothy Hyde moved proceedings along with guile, allowing presenters, speakers and award recipients the time and space they needed. It was carried out seamlessly and allowed plenty of quality time to catch up and have some fun.
On the serious side, the deserving winners were dignified and responded with personal reflections on what has shaped the industry and how the future challenges need to be addressed. While this left a feeling of pride in past achievements, it was tempered with optimism for what lies ahead. This is exemplified when observing how past challenges always look obvious in hindsight, whereas future issues are not so clear or may not even have eventuated. In other words it is no time to be complacent and here is some of their advice:
- Swap information and collaborate
- Continuously refine new technology to achieve efficiencies
- Identify and capture the consumer through new products, innovation and promotion
- Create an industry built on knowledge, purpose and passion
