PRECAST GRC LANDSCAPING FORMWORK

Satu Bumi’s capability in the supply of pre-cast GRC formwork is showcased in the enclosed photographs of Lots 3 and 4 of the East Brunswick Village project constructed by L.U. Simon Builders. This project required Satu Bumi to supply a total of five-hundred and eleven separate GRC precast elements including three-hundred custom designed rectangle GRC planters, and a hundred and ninety-seven precast GRC formwork planters for two separate rooftop areas.

Each of the rooftop areas included integrated timber seating and some of the GRC planter walls included integrated lighting cutouts and were faced with weathered steel to provide an interesting design feature.

The GRC precast formwork elements for this project were manufactured in Satu Bumi’s factory and transported to the site like a pre-planned and easy to install jigsaw puzzle. Many of the GRC elements included curved external walls to provide an elegant visual aspect and drop-down internal walls to provide the appearance of having several large standalone planting boxes as opposed to having many individual adjacent planters.

The use of precast GRC formwork planters over made-on-site formwork/blockwork are:

• The convenience and project management efficiency of being able to drop in the concrete elements of a landscaping solution towards the back end of a project.
• The superior waterproofing provided by using segmented planter elements.
• The ultimate price of the final solution.
