MORE THAN JUST TREES

01 Feb 2018

Contrary to their name, Tall Trees doesn’t just produce advanced trees. While 30 years ago when the business began that was true, today they have grown and evolved into a full-service nursery.

Tall Trees began growing predominately advanced trees, servicing the then young housing development market, with estates like Caroline Springs propelling the business into what would become a huge growth opportunity for all nurseries and landscapers. Realising that these estates require more than just trees, they have parks and common areas that require a multitude of varieties and sizes, Tall Trees decided to move into growing smaller pots and other varieties to help provide a single supply source for landscapers and developers.

While trees still form an integral part of the business, the nursery now produces plant stock in almost every size, from 140mm pots all the way through to 160L advanced stock. Tall Trees grow varieties that are ‘in favour’ with architects for these large-scale developments, including natives, exotics, grasses, bushes, shrubs, groundcovers, and everything in-between.

With the broadening of Tall Trees’ growing list of plant stock, also came the opportunity to extend its customer base and demographic. Being able to supply the vast list of stock that it does, means Tall Trees can now also supply more commercial and domestic landscapers; who use a wider array of plants in varying sizes to fit carefully designed gardens.

Opening up to smaller varieties put Tall Trees in the fortunate position of being able to grow plants for Ozbreed, a well-known plant breeder, whose varieties are specified in one place or another in almost all large-scale landscape projects.

Tall Trees puts the same emphasis on growing a lomandra in a 140mm pot as it does on growing street trees. Quality and service are the backbone of the Tall Trees operation, which fosters the belief that by growing a wider variety of species and sizes the company can better service its customers.

It is much more efficient organising your landscape project greenlife through one supplier than trying to juggle multiple deliveries, contact points and invoices. In addition, Tall Tree’s brokerage service ensures landscapers get the plants they’re after, even if they’re not in stock at the time, making Tall Trees an efficient, effective and reliable supplier for any landscaping project.

Contact Tall Trees to fulfil the requirements of your next greenlife project.
