LV BOUTIQUE GARDENS DESIGN COMPETITION

13 Oct 2015

Landscaping Victoria launches a boutique garden design competition, open to landscape designers, landscape architects and students.

Landscaping Victoria, in partnership with Warners Nurseries, presents this unique opportunity for Landscape Designers, Landscape Architects and Students to participate at The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Entrants will be designing and installing a 5m x 5m Boutique Garden.

The competition offers five finalists an opportunity to showcase their design talents, push design boundaries, gain valuable industry experience and promote their business to the 110,000+ visitors to the MIFGS, as well as capitalise on post-event publicity.

There is no theme for the Boutique Gardens Design Competition. Challenge your creativity and come up with original design elements that will make your garden a stand out at the 2016 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

The competition is open to all members of Landscaping Victoria, members of LNA, LQ, LIAWA, LIAT and LASA, members of AILDM, members of AILA, Landscape Design Students and Landscape Architecture Students.

FINALIST SELECTION

Judging will be conducted by a panel made up of representatives of Landscaping Victoria, AILDM, AILA and the Tree and Shrub Growers of Victoria.  The judging panel will select five finalists from all submitted entries based on the following criteria.

Brief 10% - An overall statement of the purpose of your design.

Overall creativity 10% - This is about the originality of your design and how well you have managed to push design boundaries.

Overall Design 20% - The unity, scale and balance of your design

Construction 30% - Practicality of your design, can it be built to achieve your intentions and within the guidelines of the Carlton Gardens

Planting 30% - Design, colour, texture, seasonal interest, scale and harmony

ENTRIES CLOSE Friday 23 October 2015
