The Association aims to give businesses and individuals involved in the landscape industry the opportunity to meet and discuss issues relevant to their profession. LIAT takes an active role in keeping members up to date with training and information sessions on new technologies, occupational health and safety, products and materials, construction methods and government and industry regulations.
The landscape industry contributes considerably to the environment and to the future establishment of green cities in Australia. Projects encompass residential, commercial, state and federal government spaces such as parks and recreational areas, sports grounds, inner city greenery such as roofscapes and streetscapes and environmental projects involving revegetation and regeneration.
