INTERNATIONAL EROSION CONTROL ASSOCIATION AUSTRALASIA

22 Dec 2011

The International Erosion Control Association Australasia provides essential information and education regarding the myriad threats of erosion.

Erosion presents a very real threat to buildings and infrastructure, as well as to the watershed and the environment. The International Erosion Control Association Australasia provides essential information and education regarding the myriad threats of erosion, as well as the best options for halting the process and reversing the side effects caused.

The International Erosion Control Association Australasia spans 52 different nations and represents 17 professional practices. Formed in 1994, the IECAA is dedicated to establishing standards for control of erosion and sediment materials, as well as for designing innovative new ways to eliminate and correct erosion in all forms. It also provides service to the sediment and erosion control industry, helps promote member consultants and businesses, creates networking opportunities for members and more.

The IECAA has also been instrumental in furthering education in the fields of erosion and sediment control by creating sponsorship programs and providing ongoing training and education opportunities. While the organisation is relatively young, it has already had an immense impact on the industry.

Members of the International Erosion Control Association Australasia are able to enjoy a number of benefits. For instance, the association offers some innovative networking options, including the ability to connect with other members to solve problems. Members also benefit from going through additional training, as well as being able to network on both business and social levels with other members. Of course, the IECAA holds all their members to a strict code of ethics, and this acts as a credential helping professionals win contracts.

The International Erosion Control Association Australasia offers a range of different membership packages, including student/retired members, individual memberships, corporate memberships and the vaunted Emerald Membership. Each membership level carries with it a different cost and different benefits, but provide potential members with a variety of entrance points to this vital association.
