NEW GRASS CARPARK AT WORONORA MEMORIAL PARK

Due to the limited amount of permanent parking for visitors, the Chapels at Woronora Memorial Park had to investigate a solution that would create a permanent overflow carpark on the grass area next to the Chapels. After Grounds Manager, Matt Tiley, had researched avenues the company could take, they enlisted the help of All Stake Supply and its grass reinforcement tactics.

All Stake Supply installed 40 rolls of its GR11 product to create the permanent grass parking area. GR11 is a high-density UV stabilized polyethylene mesh used from recycled product, designed to protect grass rhizomes and prevent soil compaction. GR11 allows grass to grow through and intertwine into the mesh enabling regular traffic in all weather conditions without damaging the grass.

An additional benefit of GR11 is it’s a Water Sensitive Urban design solution – the surface remains permeable, reducing storm water runoff and the soils hydrology is maintained.

Installed over four days, the end result is a highly usable overflow carpark that visitors can use and no longer have to walk long distances between their cars and the Chapel.
