Capricorn Grey sandstone is a hard, fine to medium grained sandstone which displays an extremely uniform colouring and very few inclusions or markings. As it is a very consistent sandstone, it is best suited to a variety of uses and can be cut into large format walling or paving, as well as landscaping elements, bringing a brilliant and natural look to any project or surface.

As Capricorn Grey is one of the hardest and most consistent stones that Capricorn have in their quarry, sitting above the Capricorn Buff and Brown Banded stones, it is a fine addition to any surface and is a part of history, clocking in at over 180 million years old!

Capricorn Grey is cut from the heart of a mountain, at the quarry located near Rockhampton in central Queensland. Thanks to Capricorn Sandstone’s logistical network, the stone can be transported anywhere in Australia, with hundreds of metres having already been supplied to projects in NSW, ACT and Victoria.
