GREEN EXPO SYDNEY

01 May 2009

The inaugural Green Expo Sydney 2009 (GES) is promoted by NGINA and will be held at The Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens in Parramatta August 25 - 26.

Green Expo Sydney 2009 (GES) is a trade-only event promoted by the Nursery & Garden Industry NSW & ACT (NGINA). This inaugural event will be held in The Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens in Parramatta from August 25–26.

GES is designed to attract a wide cross-section of the broad horticultural industry. As organisers, NGINA is keen to attract more than the traditional retailers while at the same time acknowledging that they are of significant importance to the future of our garden centre industry. GES should appeal to landscape designers and architects, those involved in bush regeneration, water management, gift and homewares, irrigation, garden centres and more.

Sydney is perfectly located to draw interest from interstate — being the mid-point between Brisbane and Melbourne. NGINA aims to make GES the main green annual trade event on the eastern seaboard. Where MIFGS has become an industry acronym, we hope that GES will become similarly popular. It will be a premier event in a superb location. This will be an opportunity to view new plants and products, network with industry colleagues and discuss business in a sophisticated trade event environment.

Interest has been extremely encouraging and excellent sponsorship has enabled organisers to pull out all stops to ensure that this will be a great event. At the time of writing — late April — 80 per cent of the sites have been sold with plenty of interest still coming in. There are several exhibitors from Queensland and Victoria, which ensures that GES will be more than a local trade show.

Brendan Moar of Dry Spell Gardening on Foxtel/Austar TV has agreed to open the event on the morning of August 25. Registration to attend GES will be available soon and NGINA encourages early pre-registration to avoid any delays at the registration desk on the day.

Further information can be obtained by contacting Peter Whitehead at NGINA on 02 9679 1472.
