GlassSand opportunities for the taking

Benedict and Visy formed their Glass recycling business in 2005 (Glass Granulates Pty Ltd). Since then, Glass Granulates has been quietly going about its business developing products and sustainable markets to ensure that all glass collected from curbside recycling is returned to the economy and not land filled.

GlassSand™ is manufactured from the by products of glass recycling, currently utilised either on its own or as a blend component in the asphalt, pre-mix concrete, civil construction, plumbing/drainage and horticultural markets. GlassSand™ is now being utilised by many large innovative organisations on major infrastructure projects.

Glass Granulates’ association with the Australian Landscape Institute of Architects (ALIA) now provides a real opportunity for innovative manufacturers to adopt GlassSand™ as a key blend component in the manufacturing of their products. It is no secret that Landscape Architects and design specifiers are extremely proactive when it comes to the specification on new green products.
