DURHAM’S NEW GROSS POLLUTION TRAP - THE DSTORM-PRO

19 Aug 2021

Durham’s new Gross Pollution Trap (GPT) DSTORM range is making waves in the stormwater quality market.

The DSTORM-Pro by Durham is a primary treatment device that removes pollution from stormwater. Utilising direct screening, filtration and sedimentation, it is sure to protect your waterways the best way possible. Contact waterquality@durham.com.au, or 0448 333 264 for further information.

The key features of the system firstly lie in its modular design which provides flexibility in construction and configuration. It is specifically engineered to ensure ongoing maintenance is cost effective and simple.

The system is made with the highest quality concrete and stainless steel and implements Smooth Bar Technology (SBT) to ensure it self-clears between events.

It has been designed to ensure it has covers on opposite sides of the device’s screen, so a combination unit can easily access 100% of the device for a thorough clean.

With no internal moving parts, the elimination of WHS hazards mean it is hassle-free. Monitoring and maintenance also remain safe, efficient, and cost-effective in the long-term.

Durham is also excited to release their independent testing results for the DSTORM-Pro.

Durham recently engaged the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Water Research Laboratory (WRL) to independently test the GPT.

UNSW’s WRL specialists designed and constructed a custom test bench and collected real gross pollution and sediment to test the DSTORM-Pro’s ability. In doing so, they mimicked real life circumstances to test the device under what would be realistic duress. The testing was also consistent with the MUSIC particle size distribution – less than 1mm.

The exciting results proved a gross pollution removal rate of 98%, and a CRE removal rate of 50%.
