CUSTOMISED PLAYGROUND FOR ORWELL RESERVE

In response, adventure+ was engaged to design and construct playground equipment that would turn the playspace into an exciting and appealing outdoor area for the community to enjoy.

It was important to the community that the playground involved equipment that all age groups could use. While the large play tower and surrounding equipment offer challenges for older children, the playspace also features a play area designed specifically for younger children. The junior unit is easily accessible and includes fewer challenging components suitable for younger children. The bright colour highlights and the shade sail above make it visually appealing as well.

The equipment is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing. The play tower is built using the steel-based spectrum+ system, which gives it a strong and robust appearance. Further enhancements were made with perforated metal panels featuring intricate designs of Australian native flora, adding a touch of nature to the playground. The use of timber in the structure provides a natural element, while the bright red and orange accents give the playground a fresh and contemporary feel. The attention to detail in the design of the equipment shows the thought and care that went into creating a unique playspace for the community.

A plethora of play opportunities were provided to ignite children's imaginations. The play tower, bridges, climbing elements and slides can be seen as a fortress for the brave, with obstacles to overcome and great escape routes from the enemy. The use of bright colours, unique designs and natural elements inspire children to explore, play, and create their own imaginative scenarios.

A playground is somewhere a child can let their imagination roam free, or enjoy the sunshine while having a good time with friends, which is exactly what adventure+ has created in this playground.
