CUSTOMISED CASTLE ADVENTURES

The Discovery Childcare Centre has a new dream playground! Located in Croydon, Victoria, the centre offers a unique play experience for children with a large timber castle that provides plenty of climbing fun. adventure+ was excited to be a part of the centre’s development through the design and installation of this fanciful play structure.

The foundation of the centre's advanced academic program is based on Danish Forest School philosophy; a program designed to challenge children while remaining flexible enough to accommodate the needs and preferences of the individual child. Time spent outdoors and at play are an important part of the program and vital to the learning experience. 

Possessed of a distinctive castle theme, the large play unit designed and installed by adventure+ has been positioned prominently at the front of the centre. Timber was utilised for the main structure to provide the flexibility needed to accurately capture the castle shape, and extra-steep pyramid roofs are topped with brightly coloured flags to give it a fairytale touch.

In line with the academic program, the custom-designed play unit was designed to be as challenging as possible, within the allowed requirements for an early learning centre. It includes a suspended rope tunnel that spans three metres and joins the two towers to create a bridge for little adventurers.
