The EDGE, a new playground bouldering unit from Curb Markers Australia, is an innovative design that offers multi-level climbing challenges that turn a trip to the playground into a mountaineering adventure.
The City of Brimbank has installed the first playground Bouldering unit developed by strategic partners Curb Markers Australia and Industrial by Nature. Installed in April 2016, the EDGE unit has been a huge success with local children and students from the adjacent secondary college.
Bouldering is challenging, physical play for people of all ages. Climbers use their hands and feet to climb and cling to the’ boulder’, moving from hold to hold as they reach for the summit. The EDGE structures have been specifically designed to accommodate easy, moderate and difficult climbing routes so that almost anyone can get involved. With so many different climbing routes available, a bouldering unit like the EDGE will provide continual challenges for any ambitious climber.
The EDGE range of bouldering units consists of 4 standard models that cater for younger children right through to active teens. Each model incorporates many challenging levels of play that will add an extra dimension to an existing playground, or provide an amazing focal point in a new playground development or upgrade.
