BUDD PARK UPGRADE FEATURES SLEEK AND ACCESSIBLE GREENPLATE BBQS
15 Jul 2025
Set along the picturesque banks of the Tweed River, the revitalised Budd Park in Murwillumbah has emerged as a standout example of thoughtful landscape design and public amenity enhancement. The project, led by LD Total, has transformed the park into a welcoming recreational space for locals and visitors alike.
As part of the upgrade, Greenplate® supplied it’s Double Eco BBQ Cabinet, powder coated in Signal Black, to blend seamlessly with the park’s modern look. This energy efficient BBQ unit is now a key feature within the new park setting, which also includes feature shelters, a toilet block with custom mural, picnic tables, seating and a new carpark adjacent to the local hotel. Together, these elements have created a vibrant and accessible community space ideal for riverside relaxation.
Rear Access – Smart Design for Functionality
The supplied Eco BBQ Cabinet was manufactured with rear access doors, a feature available across the entire Greenplate BBQ range. This design allows maintenance and cleaning teams to easily access BBQ controls whilst not compromising the cabinet's appearance. With all servicing performed from the back, the front of the unit remains sleek, clean, and user-focused, offering a more refined aesthetic for public areas.
Eco-Friendly, Inclusive and Built to Last
Greenplate’s Eco BBQ Cabinet range combines durable construction with environmental sustainability and inclusive design. Each cabinet is fitted with Greenplate’s Australian Made energy-efficient Inbench BBQ system, which boasts low power consumption, fast, even heating, and Safety Extra Low Voltage operation — making it ideal for high-traffic public areas.
The entire range is fully DDA compliant, ensuring that users of all abilities, including those in wheelchairs, can comfortably and safely operate the BBQs. The cabinets are also available in a wide selection of powder coat colours, allowing seamless integration with various landscape themes and architectural finishes.
A Riverside Destination Enhanced
The Budd Park upgrade stands as a testament to Tweed Shire Councils smart, community-focused urban design. The integration of Greenplate’s quality Australian-made BBQ solutions ensures the space is not only functional and inviting but also sustainable and inclusive.
With the park now offering top-tier amenities and scenic river views, it has become a go-to destination for gatherings, picnics and casual weekend outings.
