BESCON LAUNCHES NEW SEALER
09 Nov 2017
In response to client demand for a solvent-based concrete sealer suitable for use on exposed aggregate, the team at Bescon has developed a new sealer that penetrates concrete and bonds with natural stone.
The challenge faced by concreters using regular solvent-based concrete sealers on exposed aggregate concrete surfaces is that several coats are usually required before a visible amount of sealer has adhered to the aggregate. This process therefore often requires additional visits to site for the application of extra coats of sealer, as most solvent-based sealers require 24 hours between coats to prevent blistering caused by solvent entrapment.
Regular solvent-based sealers are generally designed for use on smooth finished concrete surfaces and are manufactured with a low viscosity - because they are required to penetrate the surface of the concrete to assist with adhesion. In turn, this low viscosity can result in the sealer sliding off the aggregate surface before it has the chance to cure.
StaSeal Premium Xpose® from Bescon is designed specifically for use on exposed aggregate concrete surfaces. It contains a unique, high-strength resin with excellent adhesion qualities, which enables it to bond to natural stone aggregates and penetrate concrete.
StaSeal Premium Xpose® is a single coat application. Only slightly more expensive than most regular solvent-based concrete sealers, StaSeal Premium Xpose® will save both time and money and the long run.
