To make best use of the terrace all year-round and provide patrons with coverage open entry from the harsh summer sun, the owners elected Shadeform to install a series of three Shaderunner® Retractable Shade Systems positioned side by side. Custom designed to suit the area, each system is 5.5 metres wide and extends out 9.0 metres, providing 150 square-metres of retractable shading – and the result is simply stunning!
The increasingly popular Shaderunner® is a fully retractable shade system, providing controllable shade on demand as and when required. In the warmer months or during hotter times of the day, the Shaderunner® Retractable Shade System can be extended as and when required to provide terrace users with UV protection and welcome shade. Supported by two heavy-duty stainless-steel cables per system, the Shaderunner® Retractable Shade System can span larger areas with minimal structural support, providing an aesthetically appealing and practical solution for commercial spaces. Though available with motorised operation, the Kingsford the Barossa Shaderunners® are controlled manually using an endless draw cord for simplicity of operation. The Shaderunners glide effortlessly along the wires via a series of ball bearing yachting pulleys, providing a durable and dependable retractable shade solution.
The Shaderunner® is manufactured from a range of rigorously tested durable and stylish fabrics, designed to withstand high traffic applications and the demands of the harsh Australian climate with ease. At Kingsford the Barossa, the Shaderunners were manufactured from Outlook 95% Polyester Mesh fabric in the colour ‘Chalk’, providing excellent shade and glare reduction with a contemporary look. The Shaderunner® can also be manufactured from waterproof PVC for a weatherproof solution if preferred, requiring side fall to shed water.
The unique qualities of the Shaderunner® enable it to be utilised for a multitude of applications, from the smallest domestic setting right up to large commercial projects, such as sports venues, wineries, aquatic parks and hotels.
