AILDM 2017 AWARD WINNERS

Celebrating the creative genius of Landscape Designers nationally, the 2017 AILDM awards have been awarded to a diverse range of winning projects from around the country.

The Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) annual awards presentation evening took place this year at the National Art School, Sydney. There, industry leaders, innovators and peers gathered together in the historical setting which was artfully decorated with plants provided by Alpine Nurseries.

A particular highlight of the evening was when the Master of Ceremonies, Michael McCoy, shared his passion for landscape design and spoke of the value of well-designed spaces and how they enhance the physical and emotional wellbeing of people.

The 2017 awards entries reflect an incredible diversity of projects being undertaken by AILDM members. The record number of entries this year demonstrate the breadth and innovation of projects that are enhancing the lifestyles and communities in Australia.

The top honour of this year’s award ceremony, the Allan Correy Award for Design Excellence, named in honour of AILDM's inaugural patron- the late Allan Correy, was awarded to Steve Warner of Outhouse Design.

When presenting the award, Ruth Czermak, AILDM's President acknowledged Steve's work, which was well represented throughout a number of different categories, and shared the following judges' comments:

“The designer has done more than just looked at the architecture, they have considered the objectives, requirements, constraints and opportunities provided by each project and integrated these throughout the design process.”
