Together with Lat27, Playscape Creations are the proud recipient of a 2017 Landscape Architecture Award in the Playspaces category from AILA QLD for our project at Roma Street Parklands. Being recognised by the Landscape Architectural Industry's peak body is both humbling and exciting, and we are exceptionally proud to be acknowledged for the efforts involved in transforming a disused area with difficult topography into one of the best playgrounds in Brisbane.

Customised and bespoke play elements were strategically selected to stimulate and challenge the wide range of cognitive and physical attributes present in developing children, with the generous inclusion of nature based play elements. Children are subtly guided through the varying levels, rope bridges, pathways and embankments to discover multiple journeys, hidden pockets and a diverse range of challenges and experiences.  A cohesive multi-sensory experience with an exploratory discovery thread entwined with horticultural wonderment.

As is always the case, it takes a great team to work together to create anything noteworthy and Roma Street Parklands was no exception! Our partnership with Lat 27 through the entire project was an exceptional experience. Likewise working with the team at JMAC Constructions in the delivery and installation phase was truly magic – working together under difficult conditions yet achieving at every level.

With this project, we have been able to demonstrate not only our design and construction capabilities but also the unique products we bring to the market. The recently opened CT White Park on the Brisbane River at Kangaroo Point is a classic example of taking elements of previous projects and reinterpreting them in a smaller context.
