A WILD RENOVATION

30 Apr 2020

The wallabies and echidnas at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo are enjoying an autumn upgrade for their sanctuary thanks to the clever soil installation delivered by The Hills Bark Blower trucks.

The displays at the iconic wildlife zoo in the heart of Sydney's Darling Harbour showcase the natural habitat of a range of Australian wildlife. The popular tourist attraction is upgrading areas with suitable soil and plants to create the best inner-city enclosures and environments for the animals.

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo needed to install 50 cubic metres of Native Soil Mix into the echidna and wallaby exhibit. This was a challenging task as the required placement destination was 160 metres away from the nearest access point. The Zoo engaged The Hills Bark Blower to supply and blow in the growing media through the Bark Blower truck’s pneumatic pump technology, ensuring the product was installed quickly and efficiently exactly where it needed to go.

The blower truck operator demonstrated expert skill in accessing the tight inner-city parking space and then strategically laying out the extensive amount of line required, snaking through the zoo’s interior corridors to reach the final destination. The hose wound past various other amazing animal displays and may have even provided some entertainment for the Tasmanian devils, kookaburras and various snake varieties, before reaching the echidna and wallaby enclosure.

The resident kookaburras will be jealous of their neighbour's upgraded home

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo has created an extraordinary facility available to local visitors and those from further afield. The Hills Bark Blower is proud to have contributed to the enclosure installation, which was completed without a hitch. We can only hope the other animals are not jealous of their neighbour’s revamp and appreciate the speed and accuracy at which the work was done.

All cleaned and ready for planting before the animals move back in
