Ausflora is proud to announce the release of a new selection of dwarf flowering plant – Leucadendron ‘Bella’s Buttons’ – that is drought tolerant and frost resistant.
A new selection developed in the Ausflora Pacific nursery, Leucadendron ‘Bella’s Buttons’ is a lovely dwarf variety, with a rounded growth habit and stunning yellow foliage with red centres in late winter/early spring.
Bella’s Buttons grows 45cm x 45cm and is suitable for mass planting, garden borders, feature planting, and suitable for growing in pots.
As with most Leucadendrons, ‘Bella’s Buttons’ is drought tolerant and frost resistant to -5˚C.
Bella’s Buttons will be one of the varieties Ausflora Pacific is contributing to the Tree & Shrub Growers display garden at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show (MIFGS) 2016.
Some tips for growing Leucadendron ‘Bella’s Buttons’:
- Requires free draining soil
- Soil should be slightly acidic
- A good pruning once a year before next year’s growth appears (usually Sept-Nov) will help maintain size and shape.
- Prefers full sun
Bella’s Buttons will be available in 140mm size from March 2016.
