LIME TUFF Lomandra confertifolia subsp. pallida

Lime Tuff is a trade name for a select form of Lomandra confertifolia subsp. pallida.

Lime Tuff has long arching lime green foliage that remains clean and tidy. It is evergreen in all kinds of climates from the coast to inland. It is very frost hardy and survives coast summer humidity very well. While not completely Phytophthora-resistant like Shara and Evergreen Baby, it is still hardier than other Lomandra confertifolia varieties.

700-900 mm tall x 600-800 mm wide

Flowering

From late winter through to spring, with scented flowers borne among the foliage

Aspect

Lime Tuff prefers full sun and up to 50 percent shade. In coast aspects it will remain neat when planted in protected positions. Be careful not to plant it in depressed garden contours that remain wet for long periods of time. it is best suited to raised or mounted garden beds.

Soil Type

A wide range, loam, clay loam and free draining clay. Avoid planting in poorly drained soils

Maintenance

Trim back foliage 1/3 to half every three to five years if needed. Use a slow-release fertiliser after trimming to encourage fresh regrowth.

Available Sizes

Tubes and 140 mm pots. Numbers for Lime Tuff will be limited through 2017. Pre-grow orders are encouraged to ensure supply for projects.

Planting Rates

Mass planting: Tubes five per m2, pots three to five per m2.

Specimen planting: Viro-tubes one to three per m2, pots one per m2.
