Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) invites you to attend the 2010 PLA National Conference in Adelaide, from Sunday September 12 to Wednesday September 15.
The conference will take place at the Stamford Grand Hotel at Glenelg, South Australia, with the theme “Parks and Leisure in a Changing World.” It promises to offer everyone from the policy maker through to the senior manager, practitioner and student, a host of challenges and innovative ideas to discuss and workshop during the conference and to utilise back in the workplace. The conference is becoming more and more attractive for members and non-members alike, and this year it will be no exception.
The program consists of two days of plenary, keynote and concurrent speakers and one day of technical tours. The sub-themes covered include:
- Responding to the Challenges through New Technology in Parks and Leisure
- Responding to the Challenges of Health and Wellbeing
- Responding to the Challenges of Urban Growth
- Responding to the Challenges of Climate Change
- Responding to the Challenges through improved Governance
The technical tours are a staple on the conference program, as they offer first-hand access to leading edge facilities and programs in the host city, and there is a tour to interest everyone. You can see all the program details and register online on the conference website.
The social program is always a highlight of the conference - we’ll be welcoming you at the Adelaide Zoo! We’ll have restaurant and conference dinners available every night, culminating with the Gala Dinner at the Stamford Grand Hotel – right on the Glenelg foreshore!
Adelaide is a favourite destination for many of our members and offers many tourist attractions - we offer Accompanying Person packages so you can make a holiday of it! Check out the website for special offers on sightseeing, accommodation, car hire and more!
See you there!
