Ken Fletcher Park - Tennyson

Named in honour of an Australian tennis great, Ken Fletcher Park in Tennyson boasts an exciting new play destination featuring custom built play equipment unlike any other in the world.

Inspired by the former Tennyson Power Station, a custom 23m long Corocord climbing structure was specifically designed for the project, providing users with unique multi-level play opportunities. A variety of climbing nets and a giant rubber ramp provide play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities, while the use of elevation and height encourage children to test their boundaries in a safe yet challenging environment.

An additional toddler area was also developed to provide imaginative and sensory activities through the use of sand and water play, while numerous art and sound installations provide passive and social play experiences, essential for developing young minds.

The park’s official opening was a community event conducted by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane on Sunday 27 January 2013.
