Blue Mountains World Heritage

With urbanisation creating higher volume of storm water runoff and seasonal fires destroying removing vegetation, the Blue Mountains steep terrain is susceptible to strong erosion forces.

The local government has a continual revegetation and erosion control program in high risk areas. Malmsbury Timbers worked closely with Blue Mountain council to provide the right natural biodegradable material for each project.

Coir logs are used in conjunction with timber stakes for bank stabilisation.

Coir matting and coir logs are used to slow down surface water reducing surface erosion.

And biodegradable milk cartons with bamboo stakes are used to increase the survival rate newly planted tube stock.
