TRAVERTINE AT ITS BEST

15 Nov 2017

Showcasing Travertine at its best, Luxury Stone’s latest project includes tiles, pool coping and stair treads in this highly desirable and durable natural stone, making the pool area attractive and easy to maintain.

The pool copers were custom made – 80mm drop-face – from a single piece of travertine.

When the client and architect on this residential landscape project wanted a light contrasting material that was cool underfoot around the pool and easy to maintain, Luxury Stone had no hesitation in recommending their natural travertine in Provincial Cream.

As a natural stone product, travertine offers all of the desired properties, with unique variations and colour tones that work as the perfect accompaniment for a modern material palette. The level of porosity of travertine makes it a suitable choice for pool and entertaining areas. It is easy to clean and attractive to the eye. A limestone material, travertine doesn’t absorb heat and will stay cool underfoot even on the hottest days – meaning no burning feet for the kids!

In addition to the pool surrounds, natural random cladding stone, called Trentham Stone, was used on this project. Trentham Random walling softens the contemporary lines of a new build and integrates the home into the garden. The stone comes in special cut corner pieces that wrap around the blockwork to provide a natural solid look and feel that blends nicely with the travertine.

Trentham Stone walling allows clients to create a natural rock wall without the cost of utilising solid pieces of stone. Trentham is applied to new or existing block/brickwork, making it cost effective and authentically natural.

As a product of nature, stone will complement any architectural style. And, as a bonus, natural stone only improve with age, weathering into its surroundings and adjusting to its environment. Design fads may come and go, but stone never dates!
