THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM

06 Apr 2016

Root Barrier® has devised a practical and environmentally-friendly solution to save trees and protect structures from cracking.

In response to the impending dangers of global warming, an innovative Brisbane company is doing its bit to help the environment.

Liaising with civil engineers and horticultural experts, Root Barrier® has devised a practical and environmentally-friendly solution to save trees and protect structures from cracking.

Root Barrier has helped thousands of people stabilise their homes’ foundations nationwide with specially engineered high density polyethylene cut-off walls.

These are engineer certified and Australian building code compliance, waterproof, flexible and form an impenetrable barrier against tree roots and excessive moisture and dampness.

“Trees, which in the past had to be removed because of their damaging effect on foundations, can now remain and exist quite happily alongside the buildings, without causing any problems underground,” said the company.

Root Barrier® has new innovative products designed for protecting civil works, including roads,  kerbs, footpaths and underground services, in locations where vertical root barriers are not suitable. Under path growth inhibitor (UPGI) has been designed to give the best protection to this infrastructure.

UPGI® has no poisons, chemicals and meets EPA requirements for placement in natural ground.
