TAFE ACCREDITED AUSTRALIA-WIDE
17 Feb 2016
PlayRight’s Playground Inspection courses provide comprehensive training in playground safety, inspection and compliance and are nationally TAFE accredited.
While it is recognised that children will experience minor injuries as they grow and learn, the condition or state of repair of a playground, including the height of any apparatus and the nature and depth of the playing surface, are major risk factors that can contribute to injury in playgrounds. Safety standards exist in relation to playground requirements, installation, inspection, surfacing, maintenance and operation to assist in preventing injury. Unless these aspects are addressed by a trained professional, the risk of preventable injury remains.
PlayRight Australia’s Playground Inspection training is aimed at current and future playground specialists, supervisors and maintenance personnel. Their courses provide the knowledge and specific competencies necessary to design, inspect, install, maintain, operate and manage play environments to become a Certified Playground Operator. Participants will develop the skills required to meet Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4486.1:1997.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course is accredited with nationally recognised TAFE academic credits. It is the most comprehensive and highest achievable level of training on playground standards, design, hazard identification, risk management and assessment methods offered and recognised in Australia.
The course is intended to provide training for individuals interested in becoming competent in playground operation, design, selection, installation, inspection, maintenance, record keeping and the management of play environments.
The aims and objectives of the training program are to increase the number of competent play environment personnel, protect the user, minimise risk of injury, ensure compliance and maintenance identification and corrections, and develop comprehensive management programs and document and forward planning to comply with current Australian and New Zealand standards - AS/NZS 4486.1:1997.
