PREHISTORIC PLAY

One of Australia’s earliest dinosaur discoveries, Rhoetosaurus brownei is part of the Sauropod family. Growing up to 15 metres in length and weighing around 9 tonnes, Rhoetosaurus was considered ‘average’ in size and liked the lush, tropical climes of south-east Queensland. The graceful long neck of this large sauropod would be useful in enabling the dinosaur to take foliage from even the tallest trees, in a similar manner to our modern giraffes and is balanced with an elongated tail that could have been used as a whip and as a counterbalance their heavyweight. 

Natureworks has chosen to immortalise Australia’s favourite Sauropod and give him new life as part of its prehistoric range.

An adult dinosaur in standing pose, with all four feet on the ground, at 13.5 metres in length and 4.5 metres high is now completed. Constructed of heavy-duty fibreglass with a detailed, realistic paint finish, Rhoetosaurus brownei will be an imposing and impressive sculpture for theme parks, zoos, even mini-golf courses.

Accompanying the adult Rhoetosaurus is an adolescent. Built as a seat/climber, a young Rhoetosaurus set in a resting pose makes for a great bench seat for any playground, theme park or childcare centre. This freestanding piece has a flat base and stands only two metres in height, making it a sturdy unit for play. Its fibreglass construction and painted finish, it will handle the hordes of children that are bound to be climbing all over him.
