PARADISE FOUND
02 Nov 2017
The infamous Turkish resort town, Cesme, has plans to unveil a stunning Oasis Thermal Resort designed by Enota, which features sloping roofs, wide atrium spaces and surrounding pools to create a serene tropical paradise.
Enota’s Tetusa Oasis Thermal Resort will begin construction next year in Cesme, off the Aegean Sea. The construction is organised in circular building blocks wrapped around deepened inner atriums. The twisted roofs of interconnected building blocks adapt to the hilly terrain, creating a large 'landform' that acts as a city park.
The deepened, tree-filled inner atriums serve as a core design feature of the project. They separate different functional zones of the complex, while also satisfying urban regulations, which require placing the programs below ground. The inner side of the atrium is deepened, allowing sunlight to come to underground levels.
Enota’s design reflects the firm’s research-driven approach to architecture, where study of contemporary social organisations and use of new technologies are interwoven to produce innovative and effective solutions. The nature-inspired project was awarded the Hospitality Building of the Year award at the ABB Leaf Awards in London.
The sunken atriums cause the building to appear as a landform and blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, while pools and palm trees contribute to the serene environment. The facilities are connected by sloping roofs which mould to the terrain and the height differences allow spectacular views from every angle.
