Tens of thousands of trees are being planted in Western Sydney in order to increase the tree canopy, cool the urban landscape and create new greenspaces for the community. Each young tree is protected with Green POD tree guards from Malmsbury Timbers. Find out more about this exciting project.
The Green POD tree guard from Malmsbury Timbers has huge sustainability credentials; made from 100 percent recycled fibre there is no new raw material manufactured to create the Green POD. The biodegradable Green POD breaks down more completely than any other tree guard as it does not contain a plastic film over its surface like the traditional milk carton tree guard.
The environmental credentials are backed up by the ease of installation requiring only one timber stake, Green POD is quick to install and stays in position once you have installed it. The unique stake port design prevents the guard spinning in windy conditions. 
The purpose of tree guards is to increase the survival rate of the plants they protect and the Green POD has one final feature that separates it from all other tree guards: each Green POD comes with its own weed mat. This dual-purpose biodegradable weed mat reduces weed competition and retains moisture, assisting the trees’ survival rate.
