Based on a NASA-patented air purification system, the "AirTrain" uses lush vegetation to clean air quality in over-crowded trains.

The AirTrain employs NASA-patented technology which amplifies the ability of some plants to clean air pollution produced by the overcrowding of people on a train. Plants are natural carbon sponges, but the AirTrain’s greenery works more efficiently than ordinary plants.

Fed in part by sunlight coming through the train’s transparent shell and watered by a clever rainwater harvesting system that can determine when the plants need hydrating, these super plants also enhance the visual appeal of the train environment – both inside and out.

AirTrain demonstrates that public transportation can be as cosy as a lush backyard, while also working to minimise our carbon footprint.
