Sharing information was the main theme of the Landscape NSW & ACT General Meeting of Members which was held on Friday 17 February, hosted by Platinum Sponsor Andreasens Green Wholesale Nurseries at their Kemps Creek nursery.
A gathering of over 70 guests attended comprising LNA members and distinguished guest speaker Graham Ross (VMM, HMA, MAIH). Other distinguished guests included: Steve Simpson – President of Landscape Australia Inc (LAI); and Ken & Sue Hargraves – Hargraves Nurseries (A founding Member of the Industry Association).
With umbrellas in hand due to the unfailing rain the afternoon kicked off with a facility tour of the 50 acre growing site, conducted by Andreasens Green Sales Team. Members gained an appreciation for the scale of the nursery and the wide range of species and sizes, grown in accordance with NATSPEC guidelines.
The night was always intended to be informative with presentations on topics including, changes to OH&S and WHS Act, Loyalty LNA Member Program, 2012 Landscape Excellence Awards and LNA Membership benefits.
Andreasens Green CEO Brett Sargeant informed members of eligibility for new member rebates and tickets into the “Pot of Gold” to be drawn at the 2012 Landscape Excellence Awards Gala Event to be held 31 August 2012.
Graham Ross shared with the gathering the key benefits of membership with Landscape NSW & ACT including the managing of big issues, boosting knowledge, networking opportunities, promoting your business and the mentor program. He spoke of his belief that the meeting of founding members at Dundas way back in 1979 certainly laid the strong foundations for the Association. The founding Members vision is evident in the continually evolving LNA which is a professional association giving real support to its members.
Formalities included new member announcements and presentations by the President of the LNA, Robert Stanton and Vice President Ron Berkelmans which included:

Members mingled, chatted and were informed while being treated to an assortment of Italian homemade cuisine. The night also included a very cool lucky door prize generously donated by Andreasens Green Wholesale Nurseries of an iPad2. It also included Edition 14 Guideline Schedule of Rates for Landscape Works and LNA vehicle stickers. Peter Stubbs of BNS Landscapes was delighted to be the recipient of these essential business tools.
