Innovative technologies designed to help save water in the home and garden are being recognised and celebrated for their innovation through Australia’s water efficiency Product of the Year Awards run by Smart WaterMark.
The winner of the Consumer Product of the Year Award for 2012 is the Australian owned and made Wobble-Tee Sprinkler. A proud family-run business, Tony and Kathy Holmes’ invention impressed the Expert Panel of judges.
With its low-flow rate and ability to be used in the backyard or for larger spaces, internal filter allowing for a variety of water sources, the Wobble-Tee scored highly on all criteria for selection for the awards – innovation, marketability, sustainability and good design.
Smart WaterMark identifies and promotes the most water efficient products and services. An Independent Technical Expert Panel has assessed over 600 products and services of which more than 300 have been approved.
"We've been really impressed with the range and quality of applications to Smart WaterMark this year," says CEO Julian Gray "And we're really glad we can showcase Australian innovation in water conservation by awarding not only the Mark, but also a Product of the Year Award."
“There has also been increasing recognition that water efficiency makes good sense, particularly with the increases in water prices across Australia.” Said Mr Gray.
Wobble-Tee inventor Tony Holmes shared exciting news for the sprinkler – a percentage from the sales of pink Wobble-Tee Sprinklers will be donated to the Jane McGrath Foundation. “This has been a great year for Wobble-Tee. We’re being recognised for our water conservation message and being able to work with the McGrath Foundation is a real honour.”
