Profile of new Chief Executive Officer of Nursery & Garden Industry Victoria, Euan Laird.

Nursery & Garden Industry Victoria is pleased to welcome their new CEO, Euan Laird, who commenced in the role July 16.

Euan comes to NGIV with extensive experience in association management, specifically related to horticulture and government.

For the last three years, Euan has been the Director of Horticulture Services for the Victorian Department of Primary Industries, with major achievements including the development of the Horticulture Industry Network and developing a more industry-engaged delivery structure.

Prior to this, Euan was CEO of AUSVEG Ltd (3 years) and prior to that, the CEO of the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association (10 years).

Euan has a strong track history of advancing industry issues and has been a key player successfully advocating for national legislative changes on issues such as ‘Country of Origin’ labelling, the ‘Horticulture Code of Conduct’, and the ‘Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed’.

Euan lives on 12 acres at Beaconsfield Upper with his young family. He is a passionate gardener and supporter of NGIV’s mission.

“I can’t wait to work with this fantastic industry as I believe, whilst already well regarded and highly professional, there remains opportunities to have it better recognised by government and community creating a more secure future for NGIV members.”
