GREENWALLS MADE SIMPLE

18 Oct 2017

Make greenwall projects simple with a Vicinity Greenwall, a vertical gardening system that simplifies project management in order to ensure greater success for your plantscape.

Successful greenwalls only happen when materials, plants, labour and site access are meticulously coordinated. Available exclusively from Martin Kellock Pots & Planters, Vicinity Greenwall is the only vertical garden system in Australia that transforms this complex process into a simple project management exercise.

Installing a greenwall can be one of the most demanding projects a plantscaper will manage. There are many elements that need to come together, usually within a short timeframe. Orchestrating the right hardware, plant stock quantities, workflow schedules for onsite and offsite tasks, and ongoing maintenance takes some serious forethought. And that’s on top of the design work that will bring the client’s vision into reality!

With traditional greenwall systems, the numerous installation steps must all be undertaken onsite. This entails getting materials delivered, including the right quantity of planting medium, fixing the framework, planting the pots, hanging the pots to create the desired visual effect, then connecting and testing the irrigation system.

With site access at times limited to just one or two days, this puts installers under a lot of pressure to get the job done quickly without mistakes. Planting out the pots onsite creates a mess that needs to be contained and then cleaned up afterwards. Although it doesn’t sound like a big problem, this type of activity creates a drag on efficiency and makes the whole job take longer. In some cases, when the installation timeframe is very tight, more staff is required to complete the greenwall faster – which impacts the bottom line and work efficiency.

By contrast, the Vicinity Greenwall system allows installers to separate parts of the project, resulting in a smooth workflow without stress (or mess). The modular form of the Vicinity Greenwall means assembly tasks can be done offsite. Its unique hexagonal pots can also be pre-planted offsite, removing the site-access constraint from one of the most time-consuming project tasks. This paves the way for a clean and swift installation onsite, keeping the plantscaper’s costs in check.

Using minimal staff, simply install the Vicinity Greenwall framework, hang the pre-planted pots in their prearranged design, and connect the irrigation – easy!
