A newly completed playground in Victoria features a range of all-ability play equipment from Omnitech that blends ‘nature’ play elements to create a challenging play environment.
On behalf of the Cardinia Shire Council, Omnitech Playgrounds has recently completed the installation of the new Alma Treloar Reserve playground in Cockatoo, Victoria. This playspace was designed and built with the intent to enable kids of all ages and abilities to play together.
The Alma Treloar playspace offers a range of activities, including climbing, sliding, swinging, rocking, spinning, imaginative play and nature play. 
“It was important for us to ensure that the new playscape fit the park’s setting. During the design process we based our colour selection around the playgrounds natural setting, to complement the park's environment,“ explains Omnitech. 
Utilised in the park’s development was the Omnitech Extreme play unit, which features accessible slides, tunnels, bridges and activity play panels for younger kids and those less physically able.
In addition, Omnitech’s new Activity Boxes were installed. These items contain a range of different multilevel climbing activities designed to challenge the more adventurous kids. Manufactured from a mixture of high-quality rope and HDPE plastic components, the new Activity Boxes offer a wide variety of challenging play experiences. 
A special feature of the project was Omnitech’s natural log steppers, which were arranged to create a challenging stepping trail. The natural log steppers tie into the lush natural environment that surrounds the playspace and have a smooth light stain finish that protects little hands and feet from splinters.
Along with the new Activity Box, a large rope structure was added to the design to increase the degree of difficulty and complexity in the play elements. Rope activities allow for multiple play experiences and are suitable for children of all ages. In addition, the Tractor unit – a new play element in the Omnitech range – was placed in the playground. The Tractor play unit fosters imaginative play and encourages kids to learn to play together. 
Welcomed by the whole community, the Alma Treloar Reserve playspace is a great addition to this residential hub.
