CUTTING EDGE SPANISH INSTALLATION

This circular and straight-lined structural artwork is a masterpiece to the eyes that is situated in the middle of a public square in Spain.
At the edge of a historic centre in Logrono, Spain lies the Concentrico Pavilion. Architecturally designed by Sauermartins and Mauricio Mendez this geometric art installation stands strong in the centre of a public space.
The structure displays two pieces, a wall and a circle, merging together. With the circle acting as a meeting point in the public space, passer-byers can sit peacefully outside or inside the circle and admire the artwork. Inside of the circle, a lonesome tree stands with street furniture around its circumference for pedestrians to sit and relax.
Designer Sauermartins states about the piece that is “a manifestation of duality expressed by the constant superposition of contrasts: instability and balance, contemporary and historical, a wall that limits and a circle that receives. The space, open and closed, at once interior and exterior, signal both the heaviness and lightness of our time”.
This unique artwork demonstrates its duality by a heavy duty-built wall and a circle that is emerged above the ground. Held up by parts of the structure and a stone, the idea of contrasts and peace are accurate on first appearance.
