CRUISE INTO THE FUTURE CHONGQING TERMINAL
31 Mar 2022
A winning design has been selected for the new Chongqing Cuntan Cruise Terminal in South West China that showcases a diverse landscape design.
The Chongqing Cuntan Cruise Terminal design has been selected from a list of entries. The winning design by Adeas, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group is inspired by the ancient Chinese painting trope of the ‘dragon gate’.
Located in south western China at the connection of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, the 100,000-metre square plot will host a collection of residential and commercial plans. The central point of the design is the two connected towers. Standing on top of a retail podium, the towers are to be connected by a sky bridge to create a fully symmetrical structure. The tower will accommodate a hotel, apartments, office spaces and a sky club, the list goes on!

With commercial features of an underground retail sector and dining spaces, the Chongqing project will be a monstrous new urban space. The lush green outdoor space will surround the cruise terminal allowing enough space for outdoor activities or a stroll through the park. Featuring a rooftop park, sunken courtyards and a winding path towards the terminal, all anyone will be doing is following the yellow brick road to this metropolitan haven.
