CLIMBING TO THE EDGE

Challenge kids of all ages to grow and develop both physically and mentally with Blade Recreation’s EDGE bouldering unit, where users are encouraged to reach the top using their mind to deduce the best path and their body to get there.
Following the successful installation of their first Playground Bouldering unit at Alistair Knox Park in Eltham, Nillumbik Council has recently installed a second unit in the popular new ‘Native’ colour scheme at the high-profile Civic Drive Playground redevelopment in Greensborough. Developed by strategic partners Blade Recreation and Industrial by Nature, the Bouldering range has been a huge success with children and would-be-boulderers since its release in 2016.
Bouldering is challenging, physical play for people of all ages where the climber uses their hands and feet to climb and cling to the boulder, moving from hold to hold. The structures have been specifically designed to accommodate easy, moderate and difficult climbing routes so that almost anyone can get involved. With so many different climbing routes available, a bouldering unit like the EDGE will provide continuous challenges for any climber. 
The range of bouldering units consists of four standard models that cater for younger children through to active teens. Each model incorporates many challenging levels of play that will add a new dimension to an existing playground or provide an amazing focal point in any new playspace development or upgrade. Available in bold, contemporary or earthy colour schemes, these Australian designed and built structures are an attractive and welcome addition to any playground.
2019 will see two new models added to the range. An ‘entry level’ bouldering wall and the introduction of rope play to link existing designs and enhance the overall play value. All Blade bouldering units are manufactured in Australia, meet Australian standards and are fabricated from proven, hard-wearing components and materials.
Blade’s partnership with Industrial by Nature has produced a number of highly successful recreational products that continue to grow with the ongoing development of niche products for outdoor spaces.
