BOULDERING TAKES FUN TO THE EDGE

06 Sep 2018

Offering endless fun and play possibilities, the EDGE bouldering unit has been installed at Alistair Knox Park, Eltham. Developed by Blade Recreation, bouldering provides an exciting new play opportunity for kids of all ages to challenge their physical and mental capabilities.

Nillumbik Council recently installed the first playground bouldering unit that features the new native colour scheme at Alistair Knox Park. Strategic partners Blade Recreation and Industrial by Nature developed the bouldering product range, which was released in 2016, and has been a huge success ever since.

Bouldering offers challenging physical play, enabling kids to develop their fine motor skills by using their hands and feet to climb and cling to the boulders, moving from hold to hold. The structures have been specifically designed to accommodate easy, moderate and difficult climbing routes so that almost anyone can get involved.

With so many different routes available, a bouldering unit like EDGE will provide continuous challenges for any climber.

The EDGE bouldering units consist of three standard models that cater for young children through to active teens. Each model incorporates many challenging levels of play that will add a new dimension to an existing playground or provide an amazing focal point in any new playground development.

Available in bold, contemporary or earthy colour schemes, these Australian designed and constructed structures are an attractive and welcome addition to any playground.

2019 will see the addition of two new models to the bouldering range; an ‘entry level’ bouldering wall and the introduction of a rope play structure that will link existing designs and enhance the overall play value of the range. All Blade Recreation bouldering units are manufactured in Australia, meet Australian standards and are fabricated from proven, hard wearing components and materials.

Blade Recreation’s partnership with Industrial by Nature has produced a number of highly successful recreational products and a range that continues to grow with the ongoing development of niche products for outdoor spaces.
