How GeoTrencher is Revolutionising Precision Trenching in Australia
For irrigation installers, landscapers and arborists, breaking ground has always been a costly, time-consuming, and destructive necessity. Traditional methods like excavators and backhoes leave behind a massive scar, while manual labour is slow and hard on the body.
Having spent years working on a farm in Mildura, GeoTrencher Australia owner David wanted a better way to install in-ground pipes. Wanting to reduce crowbar work, David researched trenching options and discovered TerraSaw (the predecessor of GeoTrencher). Based on a chainsaw power unit, the TerraSaw had many moving parts, an air filter designed for timber and a very high RPM, making them not the best for trenching.
The change to quick-cut saws improved reliability dramatically which allowed GeoTrencher to move onto developing other improvements in the range such as moving to converting electric quick cut saws and now releasing the dedicated GET – an inhouse built trenching power house! Using the existing Vanguard battery range, it’s a true trenching machine that has been built tough but very practically.
GeoTrencher Australia is changing that. The company specialises in advanced, compact trenching machines that offers a paradigm shift: surgical precision for the earth, delivering unparalleled efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
WHAT IS A GEOTRENCHER
A GeoTrencher is a powerful, compact machine designed to cut narrow, clean trenches down to 500 or 700mm with minimal surface disturbance with widths of 25mm, standard 38mm and wide 56mm trenches. Instead of tearing up the earth, it uses a rotating, tooth-lined chain to "slice" through soil and roots, extracting a precise channel.
GeoTrencher stocks models able to be adapted to customers existing Quick-Cut saws from Stihl, Husqvarna, ECHO, Wacker-Neuson, Makita and Hitachi and do full conversions of electric models of Makita and Milwaukee.
WHY CHOOSE GEOTRENCHER
Born from a need for a better solution, GeoTrencher is designed to handle Australia's toughest soil conditions. GeoTrencher is moved beyond the unreliable chainsaw-based predecessors (such as TerraSaw) to create a new generation of demo saw-based trenches and now a dedicated trenching powerhouses called the GET - GeoTrencher Electric Trenching.
Key Features
- Proven reliability and durability The machines are engineered for the real world, built to handle everything from soft ground to rock-laden soil.
- Custom solutions Offer tailored solutions for any project, large or small, with various bar lengths and cutting widths.
- Unmatched access and portability The compact design fits through standard gates and into tight spaces between fences and sheds—access that large machinery can't match.
- Environmental focus Minimises soil disturbance and offer electric models to reduce emissions and noise pollution, perfect for high-density areas.
- Dedicated innovation GeoTrencher's commitment to R&D has culminated in the GET machine—a purpose-built, battery-powered trenching powerhouse. They continue to improve products and build new ones to make trenching easier, faster and more reliable.
- Happier staff Being able to put down the shovel and crowbar makes any person happy! Every time you use the GeoTrencher, you realise the improved productivity you are making – there are real dollars and back to be saved.
WHO USES A GEOTRENCHER
- Irrigation (reticulation) and landscaping professionals Speed and precision are a source of profit. The GeoTrencher revolutionises the installation of mainlines, lateral lines and drainage, while also making tasks like garden edging simple and clean.
- Tree removalists and arborists Tackle the real challenge beneath the surface. Sever root systems with precision to prevent regrowth, or trench around root balls for easier tree removal. It even makes quick work of tough plants like Agapanthus or mature palm trees. GeoTrencher have supplied Geotrenchers for installing irrigation in date palm orchards, removing palm trees and for general tree removalists. Being able to trench under large trees on an angle makes removing them easily. You can even remove a wheel on the Geocart and trench along so that you can undercut the root ball!
- Utility contractors and fences Ideal for installing fibre-optic cables, low-voltage lighting for garden features, or power conduits to sheds and gates in sensitive areas where a large excavator would be too destructive. Garden edging is made simple with the GeoTrencher along with installing drainage strips or low voltage cables. Other power installations supply the GeoTrencher for getting 240v power to sheds in back yards where any other power access is just too difficult or destructive. More and more uses for the GeoTrencher in landscaping with low voltage cables to meet customers needs of external lighting in the garden or running power to the driveway for lighting, cameras or auto gates.
READY TO RETHINK THE TRENCH
