BESPOKE GARDEN SEATING FOR HAROLD PARK
07 Jun 2018
The renewal of Harold Park was a significant inner-city project with one third of the site dedicated to publicly accessible open space. Emerdyn’s iconic garden furniture was selected to celebrate the site and its neighbouring classic heritage building, The Tramsheds.
In creating this vibrant urban precinct, Mirvac Design collaborated with designer partners, City of Sydney and the broader community.
1968 saw the first coloured slat garden seats produced by Emerdyn. The furniture was distributed through iconic brands Myer, Grace Bros. and Woolworths, and almost immediately populated thousands of backyards across Australia, continuing throughout the seventies and eighties.
A range of Emerdyn garden chairs and 9m long custom garden seats were selected for Harold Park, in a mix of multi-coloured and all-white battens that define the architecturally-designed play area from the stately rolling hill near The Tramsheds.
Still the same family-owned business, Emerdyn produce EM054 Garden Seats and EM053 Garden Chairs in custom lengths, finishes and back-to-back.
