AN INTERACTIVE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

Designs for a children’s museum in Qatar have been unveiled during the recent Venice Architecture Biennale.
Architecture office, UNStudio revealed its designs for Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar as a blocky structure. Resembling children’s building blocks, the museum is formed by the cube structures interlocking together in a large circle with a covered foyer in the middle that acts as a central gathering place. 
Dadu, meaning play in Arabic, aims to connect children up to the age of 11 to themes such as science, sustainability and history through interactive exhibitions. The series of thematic galleries will be located within the block structure with the central gathering space alocated for play where parents can watch from afar. The children’s museum will also include a restaurant, café and activity rooms for a fun day out for families. 
The surrounding landscape consists of a range of plant life and space for children to run around and explore. Featuring shaded areas and walking paths, families can enjoy the greenspace before discovering the wonders inside the museum.
