ACO ACCESS COVER SOLUTIONS

Beneath our feet there are thousands of kilometres of water, cable and sewerage infrastructure, which carry essential services to the community. At the ground level, access to this network is critical for inspection and maintenance and selecting the right type of high-quality access covers is critical. A recent project had ACO tasked with providing Connect South in Perth with access covers that would be both strong enough for maintenance and emergency vehicles, as well as not become an eyesore on the new pavers. The solution was the Rhinocast® single part stainless-steel decorative edge infill access covers, which allows for pavers to be installed in the covers resulting in a seamless finish.

Access covers can be positioned across various building, urban and landscape environments and the diversity of these environments require consideration of a number of factors. Two of which are material choice and aesthetics: these often must be considered together as they can influence the look of a pavement or floor.

There are two popular types of materials used in the industry for access covers and ACO supplies both of them. Providing many benefits, Iron covers are cast in a foundry and steel covers are fabricated at ACO’S facility in Emu Plains, Sydney.
