The TAFE students were assigned the task of designing and building structures that showcased their technical abilities and the supplied products. Lengths of Moodie’s signature, grey, Roocycle material were used to create a bespoke structure and stage.
Padstow TAFE placed a close second in the 2013 Landscape challenge and won the People’s Choice award with a landslide margin.
Roocycle is a sustainable wood-plastic composite made from 98% recycled materials extruded in a variety of neutral colours and profiles. Roocycle can be used to create fencing, walkways, ramps and decking. It never needs to be re-painted, has a high rot resistance, is easy to clean and is suitable in termite areas.
Moodie Roocycle decking products have been slip tested according to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4586:2004, and been found suitable for external colonnades, walkways and pedestrian crossings.
Satisfying all applicable standards and design aesthetics, Roocycle is a practical, versatile and sustainable building material.
