PROFILED TIMBER A CUT ABOVE

18 May 2016

Architecturally profiled timbers from ECO Timber Group create a façade of surprising sophistication on the recently completed Club Mandalay in Melbourne’s newest residential estate.

Profiled timbers are a stunning way to create architectural interest in any project. The recent development of the Mandalay Golf Club is the perfect example of how the use of timber can create a stunning feature that both compels and comforts.

Constructed by Trio Construct, the Mandalay Beveridge development is a high-density residential housing estate of contemporary aesthetics, featuring some of the best facilities and design in housing today. Located just 40 minutes north of Melbourne’s CBD, the quaint and charming community of Beveridge is a spotlight growth area.

Developers of Melbourne’s newest gated community were looking to challenge the ‘norm’ by offering more than just another suburban estate removed from urban amenities – it was developed with lifestyle in mind. Mandalay Beveridge contains resort style housing hubs and all the facilities and social amenities one could want, including the Mandalay Golf Club.

With a focus on providing high-end amenities and a community feel within the development, timber was specified for the façade and features of Club Mandalay. Showcasing an amazing use of sustainable and architectural timbers from ECO Timber Group, Club Mandalay is a stunning showpiece within the exclusive estate.

Utilising Stringy Bark timber from sustainable sources, ECO Timber Group was the chosen supplier for the battens, shiplap cladding, roof lining and seating construction of Club Mandalay. Working to lift the design of the club to even greater heights, the use of timber offered warmth and an added element of welcome to the modern setting.

A tide of positive feedback from residents confirmed the timber as an inspired choice for the club. Nothing complements a design better than the introduction of timber of any type to a build. When employed correctly timber can soften a hard exterior and create timeless appeal.
