NATURE PLAY WITH ORIGIN’
8 April 2015
With the Origin' range, Proludic brings a touch of nature to playgrounds...
Installed across Australia, Proludic’s Origin' playgrounds provide children with opportunities to enrich their play experience with natural materials. Using FSC-certified Robinia timber, Origin’ captures the essence of nature by combining natural materials with clean lines, minimalist design and essential play activities.
Containing multi-play structures, climbing & balancing trails and traditional play equipment, the Origin’ range is designed to be an extension of what nature itself has to offer. It gives children the chance to experience materials in their natural form. Each piece of Origin’ equipment has the shape of the wood from which it is made. The trunks are naturally irregular, the colours are neutral, the surface is tactile and the visual character provides a direct link to nature.
Origin' nature trails made of stepping stones, swinging logs, ropeways, ladders, treehouses and climbing walls recreate the original meaning of play as practised in nature: crossing a stream by jumping from stone to stone, balancing on tree stumps or fallen trees, building treehouses, sliding, climbing, and observing. Through careful integration with other landscape elements, Origin’ creates play areas where nature, play structures and children exist in harmony.
Many studies have demonstrated that children need to be engaged with the natural environment for healthy development and well-being. The National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care, and School Age Care, recognise the importance of including natural elements in play spaces. Origin’ makes an ideal natural playground in public, childcare and school settings.
