The latest equipment and infrastructure services were given a show stopping display at the IPWEA sponsored Civenex Exhibition.

CIVENEX took place at the five-hectare site in Western Sydney Dragway on 18&19 May and was a hive of exhibitors who purchased space in advance. Event organiser, Frank Sticka enthused,

“The diverse range of innovative products and services on show, as well as the IPWEA sponsored seminars, demonstrates the value of the event for anyone involved in construction, maintenance and planning for infrastructure works.

“Many exhibitors reported a high number of genuine enquiries; in some cases, enough work to keep sales staff busy for the next six months just following up registrations of interest.”

The Xentric Ripper rock hammer ran away with the Best New Product award. Judges said, “This time saving attachment provides significant improvement over traditional up-and-down rock hammers. The gyratory motion of the eccentric ripper breaks rocks, stone, asphalt and concrete up to 100 percent faster than traditional excavator attachments. It’s also a lot quieter. This attachment may well revolutionise rock breaking in Australia in terms of increased productivity.”

The Most Innovative Product gong went to SEBA KMT for its TVS-10 portable inspection camera. The super lightweight, fast CCTV camera system enables inspection of pipes and tanks by focusing the camera out to distances of 120 metres, rather than using tractor-mounted moving cameras. The TVS-10 is very efficient and safe to use. It suits pipe sizes from 100mm to 150mm at depths up to 7.5 metres. Options include high density discharge lights and a laser range-finder.

Winner of the Best Environmental Product was Australian Urethane and Styrene Company’s Cupolex Concrete Slab Void Framing System. The judges said, “The system provides significant improvement over traditional polystyrene alternatives and stackability improves transport efficiency by around 90 percent. Also, the slabs produced require approximately 10 percent less concrete and 20 percent less steel than the alternative”

Outdoor Design Source had a stand at CIVENEX, with 300 ODS directories given out to visitors and exhibitors. Many people visited the stand to pick up their FREE copy of this year’s directory, while many others were interested in what ODS had to offer, both from a specifier and advertiser point of view.
