RB Landscapes scoops Landscape of the Year at the Victorian Landscape Awards held on Saturday 5 November.

Landscaping Victoria celebrated the best of the best in landscape building and design at the 2010 Victorian Landscape Awards.

Industry newcomer Richard Bellemo from RB Landscapes received the top accolade, Landscape of the Year, for his project in Deepdene Victoria at the 2010 Victorian Landscape Awards on Saturday 5 November.

The project, designed and constructed, by RB Landscapes also won the awards for Feature in the Landscape, Residential Landscape Construction $150,000 to $300,000 and Sustainable Landscape.
Judges were particularly impressed by the natural appearance of this project along with the complexity and inventiveness of the design.
For the first time, a Sydney project – Trio Apartments - successfully took gained the Commercial Landscape Construction Built Environment Award and Landscape Management and Maintenance Award. The project, a striking vertical garden was designed by world renowned French botanist Patrick Blanc and constructed by Melbourne landscaper Phillip Johnson Sustainable Landscape Systems. Judges were dazzled by the project’s sheer complexity and construction difficulty unseen before in Australia.
Jenny Smith Gardens, winners of five design and construction awards in 2009 collected trophies for Residential Landscape Construction over $300,000 and the Landscape Design Award over 150m2 for their project in East Malvern.
Head judge Stewart Detez said “The winning projects exemplify all that professional landscaping should; innovation and creativity in design, exceptional construction technique and quality materials.”
Landscaping Victoria president Mark Bolitho was pleased to note the increased number of entries.
